The Dog Sensei is a certified professional dog trainer that caters to residents in Tacoma, Washington and nearby areas. I use the proven method of positive reinforcement training. What sets me apart from other dog trainers is that I listen to my client’s needs and try to work with him or her as closely as possible. Through this, I am able to connect better with both my clients and their dogs. Read on to learn more about what I can do for you and your four-legged buddies.
It is and has always been my method to counsel my clients and their relationship with their pets before starting the program. I take the extra mile to ensure that I know exactly what you and your dog need. Our first session will be a consultation where we’ll talk about what is needed and work on human-to-dog relationship exercises.
The confidence I have in my training method is based on the multiple satisfied clients I have gained in the past year. Read what some of my clients have to say about my dog training services.
I was very specific with the issue I wanted addressed with our German Shepard and Alex did not fail to deliver! He gave us solid answers and suggestions and truly knows his way with dogs. I wound not hesitate to use him in the future and highly recommend him as a trainer. - Heather S
Our Lucy is quite sweet but also a very rambunctious Australian Cattle dog. This combined with her stubbornness and physical strength, she was out of control. Thankfully I found Alex. He is great! Right from the start he had Lucy following his commands. Lucy now sits / stays and comes when I call her. We are working on walking without pulling on the leash. It’s wonderful to see the changes with her. He loves dogs and they love him. I highly recommend Alex. I can’t say it enough, he is great! - Darlene H
Alex was professional, on time and flexible with our schedule. He provided us with good feedback and course corrections in a nonjudgmental approach. He was easy to work with and provided us confidence moving forward with a new puppy. - Janice K
We have a little Shih Tzu named Oliver. Oliver is a year old and was out of control. He would not listen, sit, or stay. I found Alex and life has been so much better with Oliver!! He sits when told and stays for a little bit. We are still working on it! :) Alex is patient and kind. You can see right away that he loves animals and most importantly, animals love him back! Oliver took to Alex immediately. Alex has a very gently and patient approach. He gets results as after only 2 sessions Oliver was sitting, staying, and listening much better. I highly recommend Alex and I will be continuing our sessions with him and Oliver. - Judi R
To start things off, you’ll be participating in three sessions that cover all the basics that you will need to get your pup on his or her way to being a well-behaved and productive part of the pack. The first part is also dedicated to helping you and your pets build a better and more stable relationship.
After which, we will begin to tackle the basic cues such as sit, stay, and focus, among others. This part of the program will consist of the basic dog training lessons and getting them to recall the tricks at the end of every session. With my help, even an old dog can learn some new tricks.
The final part of the program is summarizing all the lessons and trying to apply them. This time frame is also dedicated to teaching your dog proper walking techniques and behavior.
